Kelly was ready for school, so I woke Mikey up and was getting him dressed.
I was trying to convince him to put on his shirt. If you show him his shirt and talk about it he is really happy to comply.
I was showing him the cow on his (used to be DJ's) shirt and I started singing our version of the Phoebe - Friends song:
Oh, the cow in the meadow goes moo,
the cow in the meadow goes moo
Along comes the farmer and bonks it on the head and that's how we get hamburgers
I looked over at Kelly and she has this perplexed smile on her face.
"When you were little, you used to sing that all the time"
(she did, it was super funny)
"I did?"
She is quiet for a moment then, "Mama, can we change our house into a farm?"
"You want to live on a farm?"
"Yeah, and then we can have chickens and eat them -- but not the baby ones, we have to wait until they are grown up chickens.
I'm going to ask Santa if he can use his magic and turn our house into a farm for me"
(she thinks magic isn't real, except for Santa magic)
Paige walks in, hears us talking, and tells Kelly, "I want a horse if we get a farm!"
Kelly says to her, "Well, yeah -- you can have a horse Paige, it's a FARM"
Duh

That picture is priceless! That is how I usually convince my 2 yr old to get dressed. I have to psyche him up about his clothes or he'll stay in his jammies all day. I'm a new follower from the hop.
